Sincerest apologies for our downtime from lastnight, we came under attack from what looks like small botnet trying to forcefully gain access to our server. After reviewing the logs, all our security systems seemed to do their job perfectly, the downside however was that the site was taken offline along with our email systems which would have notified me of any such problem.
Again, I totally apologise. I am now in the process of tracking and tracing the individual nodes of the botnet, and finding the master/controller of them, and filing reports with the relevant internet bodies where appropriate. I have already secured the server against a simmilar attack in the future, so there should be no reoccurance of this problem.
